Company Overview

Poiesis Medical's mission is to develop advanced urinary care products that significantly reduce healthcare costs through better patient care and improved outcomes.

Poiesis Medical LLC (“Poiesis” or the “Company”) is an innovative medical device company focused on developing advanced urinary care products that deliver improved health outcomes, enhance the quality of care by minimizing patient pain and discomfort, and reduce healthcare provider costs. The Company has developed the Duette™ an FDA-cleared, patented, innovative dual-balloon indwelling urinary catheter that addresses the clinically confirmed adverse effects of traditional Foley catheterization. This includes the occurrence of Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (“CAUTIs”), a leading source of hospital-acquired infections and the leading cause of secondary bloodstream infections. Management believes the Duette™ is exceptionally positioned to replace the Foley catheter and become the standard of care in the $600 million Indwelling Urinary Catheter (“IUC”) domestic market due to its proven ability to decrease CAUTI rates and other adverse events associated with Foley catheterization.

The Duette™ is a market transformative technology. With the vertical integration taking place in U.S. Healthcare the Duette™ offers healthcare systems the opportunity to utilize a truly differentiated urinary catheter across all care segments that will significantly reduce
the cost of care at every level..

Medical Device - Advanced Urinary Care Products

The Problem & The Duette™ Solution:
The Foley catheter has been the standard of care for indwelling urinary catheters since 1937. Its design has fundamentally remained unchanged for 79 years. Foley catheterization has been the source of a long list of complications and costs associated with patient treatment. Issues range from patient pain and discomfort, blockage of urine flow and bladder spasms to the more severe complications of cystitis, blood in the urine, CAUTI and Sepsis. The annual cost to treat CAUTI, which is now the responsibility of health care providers, is estimated at $2.5B(CDC)
The Solution
The Poiesis solution is the Duette™. Its elegance is in its patented dual-balloon technology. By protecting the antibacterial mechanism of the surface mucin and the cells below, the Duette™ maintains the body’s own natural defense mechanisms. An important factor for healthcare providers is the Duette™ requires little additional training for attending healthcare professionals.
